Low-Brim Spoon Bonnet of Blocked Open Weave Straw

This shape appears in the early to mid-1860's. This version is a very light weight straw with and open-weave decorative band. $65.

As with all my straw bonnet forms, it will require that you add a curtain, ties, neck edge binding and brim lining to conceal any cut edges. A frill of stiff net should be added to the interior of the brim where it touches the head to help keep the bonnet in place. You may purchase a completion package consisting of stiffened cotton net for the frill, cotton net to line the curtain and sized open-weave cotton to line the crown for an additional $7.
