This bonnet was custom made for use in a 2007 theatrical production , "The Last of Mrs. Lincoln." Based on an original bonnet, it is constructed of blocked and wired buckram covered in plum-colored cotton velveteen and trimmed with lavender China silk. The same silk forms the ties.

This style was popular during the last year of the Civil War.

Light blue hand-dyed silk taffeta cover with periwinkle blue China silk decoration, white moire' rayon ribbon ties and an inner brim wreath of vintage flowers mixed with my handmade leave and bachelor's buttons. More of the vintage flowers appear on the outer brim.
