1890's- Hats & Bonnets

"Donna" is an impertinent little hat of vintage black cotton velvet on a buckram base. The velvet is virtually identical to that used on the original hat in my collection (see gallery.) Silk taffeta forms the trim folds. Vintage ostrich plumes and new berries complete the brim. The underside features a side bandeau, covered in a twist of velvet, that allow the hat to tip to the preferred angle and maintain stability. The original hat shows signs of repeated use of a hat pin to hold it in place. $155.00 Click on photo for a gallery of images.
